Today was a trip day to Sintra. Meeting time set to 9am meant that the actual bus departure was not earlier than 9:45. Sintra used to be the summer residence of portuguese kings and queens. We visited Palacio nacional de Sintra including the exhibition of Leonardo's machines. Then we continue to Palacio da Pena and Castelo dos Mouros. I go up the hill on foot, the others take either bus or taxi. Apo, Christian and all tired people stay in a cafe. Unfortunatly there is time to see only one of two sites mentioned and I choose maurish castle (3,5euro) It was built in 9th century and is really worth visiting. The stonewalls with wonderful view to the countryside, towers, you can feel the ancient times...
Having only 1 hour delay we leave Sintra and continue our trip to Cabo da Roca, the cliff which is the most western point of Europe. It is foggy and very windy, temperature went down by some 20 degrees compared to Sintra, but it gives the place some kind of mystery and I like it very much. You can feel the power of the ocean on the end of the world...
We almost lost Chang when leaving. Today I also met Hosam from Egypt. The journey back home is unbelievably slow, because the road leads along the shore and is full of cars.
I go shopping (4,5euro) and take a bus for the first time from Modelo home. We cook Chang's chinese noodles for dinner and Chang teaches us how to use sticks properly. He is the real master in it. There is a lot of fun...
