Wednesday 6th August
Today we (me and Petra) were finally introduced to the Cirurgia III department. I will spend my time there with doctor Winston. After visiting about 4 patients dr.Winston disappeared and left me with dr.Lubomir from Bulgaria, who doesn't speak english at all. Finally I spent 20 minutes with dr.Tito at the outpatient department.
We spent the afternoon lying on the beach instead of surfing. The reason? No waves...:-(
But the evening was great. We had a dinner altogether, it was organised by Marta and Ivo. Meeting point in front of the office building at Ciudad Universitaria station at 8pm, everybody was there at 8:45. I talked to the german girls for the first time. I also found out why are the streets full of Sporting fans. It was because of the opening match at the newly built Sporting football stadium against Manchester United (result 3:1 for Sporting). We could only regret that we didn't know about it earlier. The admission was said to be only 5euros.
The dinner started at about 10pm in a restaurant near Rossio. For 10 euros many different courses were served and a lot of beer and sangria. Even dear Chang passed the alcoholic chalange with honor. After having eaten everything and taking last cup of coffee we moved by underground to Oriente, the EXPO '98 district, into a disco, which I didn't go in. I walked around instead and at 2am me, Ivo, Kasa, Agnieszka and Petra took taxi back home (10,80 euro). Interesting was that the others who came back at 6am paid for the taxi only 6 euros. I went to bed immediately.
